Step 1: Prepare the Lettuce Wrap
Remove 2-4 large, thick slices of lettuce per burger.
Wash and pat dry to keep them crisp.
Step 2: Season and Shape the Burger Patties
Mix ground beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Divide into 4 equal portions and shape into 3/4-inch thick patties.
Step 3: Cook the Burger Patties
Heat a grill or pan over medium-high heat.
Cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side (medium doneness) or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
If using turkey, cook until 165°F (74°C).
Step 4: Melt the Cheese (Optional)
Place 2 slices of Cheddar on each patty and let it melt.
Step 5: Assemble the Burger
Spread 1 tablespoon of secret sauce on the bottom lettuce leaf.
Place the cooked patty on top.
Add sliced tomato, onion, and pickles.
Spread another tablespoon of sauce on the top lettuce leaf.
Step 6: Wrap and Serve Immediately
Fold the lettuce securely around the patty and toppings.
Use a toothpick or parchment paper to hold it together if needed.
