Ingredients
  

  • For the Burger:
  • 1 lb 450g ground beef (80/20) or ground turkey with dark meat
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 head Boston leaf lettuce or iceberg/romaine as alternatives
  • 1 medium tomato sliced
  • 1 small onion sliced
  • 20-25 dill pickle slices 4-5 per burger
  • 8 slices Cheddar cheese optional, 2 per burger
  • For the Secret Burger Sauce:
  • 4 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 2 teaspoons mayo
  • 1 tablespoon finely diced pickles or pickle juice optional

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Prepare the Lettuce Wrap
  • Remove 2-4 large, thick slices of lettuce per burger.
  • Wash and pat dry to keep them crisp.
  • Step 2: Season and Shape the Burger Patties
  • Mix ground beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Divide into 4 equal portions and shape into 3/4-inch thick patties.
  • Step 3: Cook the Burger Patties
  • Heat a grill or pan over medium-high heat.
  • Cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side (medium doneness) or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  • If using turkey, cook until 165°F (74°C).
  • Step 4: Melt the Cheese (Optional)
  • Place 2 slices of Cheddar on each patty and let it melt.
  • Step 5: Assemble the Burger
  • Spread 1 tablespoon of secret sauce on the bottom lettuce leaf.
  • Place the cooked patty on top.
  • Add sliced tomato, onion, and pickles.
  • Spread another tablespoon of sauce on the top lettuce leaf.
  • Step 6: Wrap and Serve Immediately
  • Fold the lettuce securely around the patty and toppings.
  • Use a toothpick or parchment paper to hold it together if needed.
