Ingredients

  • For the Base
  • 4 cups red and green grapes seedless, washed and dried
  • For the Creamy Dressing
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the Topping
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • ½ cup toasted pecans chopped

Instructions

  • Prepare the Grapes (5 minutes)
  • Wash the grapes thoroughly, then pat completely dry. Moisture will thin the dressing, so take a moment to dry them well. Remove any stems.
  • Make the Creamy Dressing (5–7 minutes)
  • In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
  • If it’s fully softened, your arm will thank you.
  • Add sour cream, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract.
  • Mix until the dressing is completely smooth and creamy.
  • Combine Grapes and Dressing (2 minutes)
  • Pour the dressing over the red and green grapes.
  • Gently fold everything together until well coated.
  • This is a great moment for a “quality control taste-test.”
  • Add the Signature Topping (1–2 minutes)
  • Just before serving, sprinkle the top with:
  • Brown sugar
  • Toasted chopped pecans
  • The brown sugar slowly melts into the dressing, creating that iconic caramelized sweetness.
  • Chill & Serve (1 hour)
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour so the flavors meld.
  • Trust me: chilled grape salad hits differently.

Notes

  • Use room temperature cream cheese for the smoothest dressing.
  • Dry grapes very well so the dressing sticks properly.
  • Add brown sugar and pecans right before serving to keep them crunchy.
  • The salad tastes best after chilling for at least 1 hour.
  • You can lighten the dressing using Greek yogurt or Neufchâtel cheese.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for 2–3 days.
